Gay-Straight Alliance / Gender-Sexuality Alliance (GSA)

Meets Day 5 at Lunch Break

Join Mme Katt, Mrs. Vetterl, and other students every Tuesday over lunch recess!

What is the GSA club?

  • The GSA is the Manachaban Gay-Straight Alliance or Gender-Sexuality Alliance, a club for anyone in our school who identifies as part of the LGBTQ+ community and anyone who wants to support them.

What do you do at a GSA meeting?

  • At a GSA meeting, we mostly just chat and hang out together!  We go around the circle and say our names (or preferred names, if they are different), and state which pronouns we prefer (he / she / they).  Sometimes we discuss different LGBTQ+ events (both current and historical), sometimes we read books (like And Tango Makes Three), sometimes we plan activities (like a bake sale), and sometimes we just share our stories with each other.

Is joining the GSA a commitment?

  • Not at all!  Anyone is welcome to come to a GSA meeting, but that does not mean that they are required to attend every week.
