Hello and welcome to ELA 5/6 and Social Studies 5 with Mrs. Anderson

Welcome to grade 5. Manachaban Middle School is a wonderful place to be and I am one of the lucky ones that get to call this school my home. I am a grade 5homeroom teacher and one of the teachers in the English Stream. I teach English Language Arts 5/6 and Social Studies 5.

I have been teaching for quite some time, teaching art in various places and spaces for many years, teaching grade 3 online, and teaching grade 5 here at Manachaban. I have a B.A and B.Ed from the University of Calgary, a graduate certificate in supporting mental health and well-being from the and am in the process of a post-graduate certificate in reading and literacy from Queen's University. My focus is on helping students find academic and social success in the journey into middle school. I do this by using a literacy focus and a SEL lens. I am committed to making my classroom space and place where students feel safe, comfortable, and able to find success.

I use Google Classroom to house most of our learning activities, and provide real time reporting feedback in PowerSchool. Please check these on a regular basis with you student.
