November 24 update

Math: You should see the percents unit test mark on power school by the end of the week-end.  We have started working on integers.  Right now we are learning about multiplying and dividing integers – ask your child if they can remember the rule for multiplication and division.

We will have a quiz on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Social/La: Black Plague Persuasive Essay due Tuesday November 28, 2017

Students should finish their final copy of the persuasive essay for the Black Plague.  I will attach the peer assessment chart to this e-mail as well as put it on google classroom.  They need to have 2 peer assessments and an adult assessment. They have worked  very hard on the essay in class then  on Tuesday I asked them to “take a break” and not look at their essay for a few days.  If you could read and edit their work and fill out the assessment chart that would be great!

Science: We are finishing our “Mix and Flow of Matter” unit – There will be a unit quiz this Friday December 2.

Upcoming WILD dates:

The following are WILD days – location and activities will depend on snow conditions

December 5- cross country ski on Moraine Lake Road – Lake Louise

December 18 – Cross country ski (and maybe Fat Bike?) Canmore Nordic Centre

January 15 – Cell workshop at University of Calgary Foothills Campus

January 24 – Foothills Campus faculty of medicine stations / rock climbing in the afternoon

February 12 – Cross Country ski or snow shoe and possible the avalanche awareness day

February 28 - Cross Country ski or snow shoe and possible the avalanche awareness day

I will need at least 2 parent volunteers for each day – December 18 I will need 3 parents if we are Fat biking – there will be an extra charge for those who want to rent a fat bike – more details to follow
