November 3 update

Here is a quick update with what is going on in class – for your child’s progress to date don’t forget to login to power school.  To see upcoming assignments and rubrics and math practice sheets, etc.  Please login to Google Classroom.

Math:  continuing to work on Percents, decimals and fractions.  Today we took notes on How to find the percent of a number.  Students should do “Percent Benchmarks #1 and #2” worksheets – I gave them all a paper-copy today.  I want them to do this without a calculator!  Have them show you how they do it …. It is really fun!  Both worksheets should be completed for Monday.  On Google Classroom I have these worksheets and many more for students to practice!  The percent Benchmark Sheets should be done without a calculator – the idea is for them to use mental math to find the answers

Science:  students should have handed in the “Determining Flow Rate” lab write up which was due yesterday.  Please check Google Classroom to see if your child handed in this lab.

LA/Social:  Students are working on the court case “Black Plague on Trial”.  They are either the defense lawyer or prosecution lawyer – they need to research the Black Plague (which we have been doing in class) and come up with some good statements and questions for witnesses in order to win the trial.  The Trial will be held Thursday or Friday next week.
